A Good Read…….

Although I haven’t been able to post as much recently, I thought I’d mention a good book out there that I don’t believe has recieved the accolades it deserves. It’s Lee Iacocca’s “Where Have All the Leaders Gone?”. After leading Chrysler out of bankruptcy and becoming an American icon of what a hard working second generation immigrant can do with his life, Lee endorsed many Republicans for POTUS over the years, including GWB in 2000. That all changed in 2004, when he wholeheartedly endorsed the junior Senator from Massachusetts. Here is a portion of his endorsement speech in San Diego which some here may have attended. But I digress…….. I’m about a third of the way through it and so … Continue reading

“Campaign For Our Country”

Just posted over at JK-com is a thank-you from the Senator to all those who made comments to his announcement Wednesday. In this thank-you he has asked for people who wanted a John Kerry campaign for the presidency to shift gears and give the same effort for a “campaign for our country”. I think it was a great choice of words and I personally have been able to finally “get out of the funk” I have been in since Wednesday. I made a brief comment asking the Senator to tell the community exactly what he needed us to do. To me his request is the same kind of request as he and others made to our soldiers and citizens some … Continue reading

Senator Hagel : “Worst policy decision since Vietnam”

I was hopeful that not only Democrats would heavily question Secretary Rice today but also some from the other side of the aisle, specifically the outspoken Senator from Nebraska……. REPUBLICAN Senator Chuck Hagel went on the offfensive often AND early. Quote: “I think this speech given last night by this president represents the most dangerous foreign policy blunder carried out since Vietnam.” Go get ’em Chuck…………can’t wait for JK in a matter of minutes 😉

3 Weeks of Scrutiny

Just as the president is ready to address the nation on Iraq, Joe Biden next week begins three weeks of hearings on the war. On the committee, Biden and Democrats Christopher Dodd (Conn.), John Kerry (Mass.), Russell Feingold (Wis.) and Barack Obama (Ill.) will compete for intensity in criticizing a troop surge. But on the Republican side of the committee, no less probing scrutiny of Bush’s proposals will come from Chuck Hagel. *** Damn, what a fine group of heavy hitters! I can’t wait to get audio from this group! Obama will be lucky if there’s anything left after Biden,JK, and Russ get done grilling whoever has to speak for the administration. Hell, if the hearings are public I might … Continue reading
