Good Read Alert: We Can All Do Better

I’ve got a stack of books I am reading and two websites I am redesigning right now, so I haven’t been posting at all for the past few weeks. I did want to alert readers to a Good Read that was just released today, former Senator Bill Bradley’s new book, We Can All Do Better. I am about half way through my review copy and have to say it’s one of the best and most inspiring political books I...

Fewer Words; Less Filling

The Reduced Shakespeare Co. cleverly and humorously abridges all of Shakespeare’s 37 plays to 97 minutes. I also read all over about how all the poor working class folk are always voting against their economic interest. Anecdotally, I always felt this to be the exact opposite. Statistically, it’s also wrong. Larry Bartels tells us why Obama’s “cling to” narrative is wrong, and: …it is wrong on virtually...

Bob Geldorf on Bush

February 28, 2008 3:40 pm

TIME Magazine has piece from musician/activist Bob Geldorf on his trip to Africa with George W. The first paragraph caught me: I gave the President my book. He raised an eyebrow. “Who wrote this for ya, Geldof?” he said without looking up from the cover. Very dry. “Who will you get to read it for you, Mr. President?” I replied. No response. Won’t it be nice to have a Democratic president who reads in the White House. Sphere: Related...
