Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

It’s Monday and it’s April Fool’s Eve.  I am currently planning what minor prank I shall play on my children.  I’m also steeling myself for whatever pranks might be planned for me… Rest assured, Uncle Jay has a run-down of the political hi-jinx of the past week: Uncle Jay Explains the News – March 31, 2008 Let’s take a gander at the hi-jinx in today’s Ten Post Round-Up: 1: If this is the free-market conservatives preach about, I’d say...

Clinton Responds to Question on Wright Controversy

In a wide ranging interview today with Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporters and editors, Hillary Clinton said she “would have left her church if her pastor made the sort of inflammatory remarks Sen. Barack Obama’s former pastor made.” “He would not have been my pastor,” Clinton said. “You don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.” The Clinton campaign has refrained until now from involvment in the Wright controversy, but Clinton did respond to a question this...

Obama and Wright, and the Donkey in the Living Room

I abhor racism. I also abhor sexism, misogyny, gay-hating (“homophobia” is too soft a word), and anti-Semitism. So it is within this context that I address the Jeremiah Wright issue. It makes me sad and angry that people consider Obama’s mentor to be a terrible person because he blames America for the plight of African Americans. He is, after all, correct; this is a very racist country. When I see blog and forum postings about how Obama would “only...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

Another day, another Round-up, and boy is it a doozy. I came across some updates and some new tidbits of interest. Speaking of new tidbits, I was in my van most of the day, yesterday and this song keeps popping up on the radio. It’s so catchy, I can’t help but share it: Sara Bareilles – Love Song I hope today’s Ten Post Round-Up will tide you over for a bit. I’ve got a new schedule, so it’s going...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

A lot of wild women in the news, this week. A bigot gets a standing ovation, in Oklahoma. Mary Ann stands in a line-up. And, Madonna gets inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In honor of Madonna, I’m posting my all-time favorite song/video (turn the volume down if you are at work–some “bad” words): Madonna-Human nature March is Women’s History Month, but today’s Ten Post Round-Up doesn’t really shed a positive light on the some of...

At This Point, “Double Standard” Is Ridiculous Understatement

March 2, 2008 5:57 pm

The Web’s most popular liberal forum is on fire because of Sen. Hillary Clinton’s 60 Minutes interview about the rumor that Sen. Obama is a Muslim. Obama was careful to say, when it was his turn, that the rumor is offensive to Muslims because of its presumption. Clinton said she “takes him (Obama) at his word” that he is not a Muslim. Members of the aforementioned forum are practically breathing fire over the fact that Clinton did not denounce...

McCain’s Mess

John McCain has a bit of a mess on his hands, to put it mildly… McCain is “refusing to renounce the endorsement of a prominent Texas televangelist who Democrats say peddles anti-Catholic and other intolerant speech.” Sphere: Related Content
