California Delegate Caucus: Someone’s Gotta Do It

Sunday was the day California Democrats chose district delegates to the national convention in August. Yes, I went to my delegate caucus. About a month ago I volunteered to help, naively thinking I’d be sitting at a table signing people in. Well, last Monday night I received an email saying I was responsible for running the 6 delegate CD-14 Hillary delegate caucus (6 being the larger allocation). A couple days later I got a bunch of paperwork and sign-up...

On Wednesday, the House overwhelmingly passed a resolution calling on China to “end its crackdown on Tibet and release Tibetans imprisoned for “nonviolent” demonstrations.” The resolution passed on a vote of 413-1, with ”Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who recently dropped out of the presidential race, was the lone congressman voting against it.” The resolution passed just hours before runners were to carry the Olympic torch on a six-mile route around San Francisco Bay. San Francisco, California, which is in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s 8th...

California Gets It Right Again

California overwhelmingly voted to support Hillary Clinton back on Super Tuesday I. Now, voters in California’s 12th Congressional District voted overwhelmingly to send Jackie Speier to Washington, giving her over 75% of the total votes. If you don’t know who Jackie is, you should. Here’s her campaign website. If I couldn’t get a Clinton/Clark ticket, my next choice would be Clinton/Speier. Really. People like Jackie are why I’m a Democrat in the first place. The Foreclosure Bus Tour

March 27, 2008 9:03 am

The latest fad to come from the housing bubble, that has indeed burst, is the “Foreclosure Bus Tour.” Somehow the idea of this seems a little off to me. That Realtors are commercializing the process of selling foreclosed homes is just a little sad in my opinion.   Realtors are using the bus tours to show multiple homes in foreclosure to and they are charging approximately “$45 per person or $65 per couple” which covers the tour, and things like “house...

How The West Was Won: Millions of Cell Calls for Clinton and Dunkin’ Donuts Democrats

In late January the Sac Bee had a piece boasting Obama’s Basic Training in California. Trainees were told to “share personal conversion stories with voters – not policy views.” In something reminiscent of my post on the cult like ”movement” that Obama has grown, the Sac Bee reports that volunteers were told to work on their stories of  “how they came to Obama” and “say it in the mirror… Get it down.”  But while Team Obama was working hard to...

Jeralyn notes on Talk Left some discrepancies the delegate totals for Obama and Clinton. I know the Obama teamed claims to have won the most delegates, but the N.Y. Times shows Clinton leading with delegates as Jeralyn points out: Sphere: Related Content
