Move On has a powerful new ad “calling on Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate the use of torture during the Bush administration and even raising the specter of targeting former Vice President Dick Cheney.”
In related news, the WaPo reports in Thursday’s edition that “Condoleezza Rice, John D. Ashcroft and other top Bush administration officials [...]

Dick Cheney said on an interview with Hannity last night, “I don’t think we’ve got much to apologize for.”
Instead of skulking away quietly as he should, Cheney just “keeps on swinging.” He seems to be suffering from delusions of grandeur, coupled with perhaps a little panic that his devilish deeds could catch up with him.

It’s Monday, so it must be time for the “coordinated conservative tantrum” of the week:
The new fit is over President Obama shaking hands with the President of Venezuela at the Summit of the Americas.
Is it worthy of all the fuss:
You can watch the video — and the body language — of Obama’s brief exchange with [...]

On Thursday, the Department of Justice released “four secret memos used by the Bush administration to justify torture.” The ACLU is calling for the DoJ to “appoint an independent prosecutor to investigate torture under the Bush administration.”
The memos describe “brutal interrogation techniques” used by the C.I.A.:
In dozens of pages of dispassionate legal prose, the methods approved [...]

Some conservatives were attempting to paint Barack Obama as a weak leader over the pirate hostage drama. They are eating crow now.
And interestingly, speaking of eating crow…
A new poll indicates Americans don’t agree with former Vice President Dick Cheney’s recent assertion that President Barack Obama’s actions have increased the chances of a terrorist attack against [...]

Congressional Republicans think Dick Cheney needs to go away, because “he’s hurting GOP efforts to reinvent itself after back-to-back electoral drubbings.”
Throughout his vice presidency, Cheney “showed a penchant for secrecy” but now he has “popped up in media interviews to defend the Bush-Cheney record while suggesting that the country is not as safe under President [...]

Eric Black at the Minnesota Post broke this story yesterday:
At a “Great Conversations” event at the University of Minnesota last night, legendary investigative reporter Seymour Hersh may have made a little more news than he intended by talking about new alleged instances of domestic spying by the CIA, and about an ongoing covert military operation [...]
