Obama would do well to think about OpenSecrets.org next time he makes a claim like “I don’t take money from oil companies.” FactCheck.org calls Obama to task on his misleading statement from his new ad: Sphere: Related Content

It’s a Welfare State–If You’re Rich

March 19, 2008 6:00 am

Listen to conservative talk show pundits and blowhards. Listen to any of the political candidates who proudly amend their names with the phrase “conservative Republican.” One theme resonates in all of the heavy wind—keep the government out of our private lives; let business enjoy a free market economy. Not only should government regulation be minimal, they say, but we must end the “welfare state.” Of course, what they mean is don’t help the individual; help only corporations by giving...

Economic Woes

These days, saying “it’s the economy, stupid,” is an understatement. Look around the grocery store and you’ll find the prices are rising. Fill up the tank with gas and it costs a fortune. NOTE TO READERS: I’m unsure what happened to this post, apparently it was hijacked in some way. Sphere: Related Content

It’s The Ecomony

In my opinion one of the greatest issues we face in America at this time is fixing our broken economy. Folks are struggling across the country, making tough choices on whether to fill the tank or buy necessities. The tank sometimes...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

You would not believe what I have been going through the last few weeks…well, maybe you could. It’s just that I have been so bogged down with a massive to-do list that would not go away, it seemed like it was out to get me, making it difficult to prioritize anything or kill the tasks in front me. I was feeling extremely overwhelmed. But, I did it. I stomped the beast…finally! Sure, I have plenty of things ahead of...

Hillary Clinton Speaks to Crowd 12,000 Strong in El Paso (VIDEO)

February 13, 2008 1:20 pm

Last night in El Paso, Texas Hillary Clinton received a rock star welcome at a rally of supporters that was 12,000 strong. Anne Kornblut claims in the WaPo that Hillary was “booed” when she mentioned her “differences with Obama over health care and the mortgage crisis.” If she was booed it sure as hell could not be heard over the screaming of support for what Clinton was saying. Kornblut’s piece in the WaPo is highly indicative of the hit...

Why Does the Bush Administration Not Want Small Business to Export?

February 13, 2008 12:13 am

I had a rather interesting and disconcerting experience today, as a small business owner. I make natural bath & body products and I wholesale and retail them on the internet. I’ve been in business for nearly 13 years and occasionally I get international orders from shop owners and individuals in various locations around the globe. I have in the past primarily shipped to my overseas clients via the USPS. But today I learned that I may not be able to ship...
