Caroline Kennedy Interested in Hillary’s NY Senate Seat

Word has it that Caroline Kennedy is interested in Hillary Clinton’s NY Senate seat when Clinton is confirmed as Secretary of State. I was hoping that Bobby, Jr. might be interested in the seat, but apparently he is not:
As a prominent member of the Kennedy clan, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is the kind of high-profile, historic [...]

We did it!!!! Obama routed John McCain in a full on electoral college sweep. 333 Electoral Votes and 51% of the popular vote. Add to that sweet victory: Democrats unseat GOP House incumbents.

The Lies and Distortions By McCain Of His Career and Life (video)

Rolling Stone has published a cover story on John McCain that has the most damning, well documented biography of his life I’ve seen. I thought I knew the deceptions of John McCain. I didn’t know one-tenth of the real story. I won’t try to summarize this lengthy article. There is simply too much data, too [...]

Rep. Bachmann Issues Apology Commercial…But Not Really

Rep. Michelle Bachmann screwed the pooch on Chris Matthews Hardball last week suggesting that the press investigate the Congresspeople who were Anti-American. She was also concerned that Obama himself was Anti-American. (Anti-American members of Congress?) That charge started a deluge of donations for her opponent, Elwyn Tinklenberg, of over $1.4 million cash being now used [...]

Bloodbath in the House?

The Republicans themselves seem to think it’s possible:
An internal document circulating among House Republicans warns of an impending congressional bloodbath, listing 58 Republican-held House seats being at risk, and 11 already considered as good as gone. As many as 34 GOP-held seats are in serious jeopardy of swinging to Democrats, the assessment shows.
What with the [...]

Kerry Measure To End Wartime Propaganda Becomes Law

I’m winding down to my last few days before my big cross country move. It’s bad timing given the election, but it’s something I must do. Needlessto say I’m overwhelmed with packing and organizing and finalizing details, so finding time to post is difficult. That said, this arrived a short time ago in my email box [...]

Are We Gearing Up For An Obama Landslide?

I’ve spent the entire weekend packing for my move back east next week. I leave Los Angeles on the 19th and there is so much to do. I’ve barely had a chance to read the news, but this caught my eye during my late night browse:
Barring a dramatic change in the political landscape over the [...]

Financial Chaos Sweeping the World

Well folks, as you sit down with your morning cup of coffee and you prepare to delve into the financial headlines you might want to pour a stiff shot of something to sweeten that coffee, that is if you can afford the price of a good bottle of liquor. Here’s a round of the early [...]

GOP Trainwreck Waiting to Happen

If the predictions are on the money, the signs are all there for a trainwreck for the GOP, come November…
Chris Cillizza has pieced it all together on The Fix, noting “a column from Stu Rothenberg who, along with former Fix boss Charlie Cook stands atop the congressional handicapping game in Washington, in which Stu declares [...]

Loretta Sanchez and Linda Sanchez , CA-48 and CA-39, Lose Brother in Boating Accident

The sister’s Sanchez have had days of waiting as their brother and his companion were missing. Today the Los Angeles Times has the story of his boat being found and both bodies being on-board.
I’ve met Loretta Sanchez. She’s a strong willed person who will stand up to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Yet think of the horror [...]

I’ve Never Been As Sad About A Campaign

As most of you have picked up over the months I’ve been in campaigns one way or another since the mid-sixties. (Yes, that dates me a bit but I’m a lot younger than Clint Eastwood and I still wouldn’t tangle with him in a dark alley so 59 doesn’t seem so old to me.)
I’ve lived [...]
