Bush OK’d Torture Meetings

April 14, 2008 10:12 pm

It’s official… “President Bush says he was aware that his top aides met in the White House basement to micromanage the application of waterboarding and other widely-condemned interrogation techniques.” And he says it was no big deal. “I’m aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved,” Bush told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz on Friday. “I don’t know what’s new about that; I’m not so sure what’s so startling about that.” It’s true that it has...

The Most Severe Famine Ever?

THE MOST SEVERE FAMINE EVER? F*ck American conservatives! Just f*ck the rotten murdering bastards. My wife is Filipino. A main food staple for the Philippines is rice. What we pay to buy food for her family back home has tripled in the last six months. People are now starving to death in the Philippines. Mainly homeless people now, but people nonetheless. Sure beggars are still allowed to beg, but doing it no longer keeps them alive. They used to...

April 10, 2008 12:39 am

On Wednesday, the House overwhelmingly passed a resolution calling on China to “end its crackdown on Tibet and release Tibetans imprisoned for “nonviolent” demonstrations.” The resolution passed on a vote of 413-1, with ”Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who recently dropped out of the presidential race, was the lone congressman voting against it.” The resolution passed just hours before runners were to carry the Olympic torch on a six-mile route around San Francisco Bay. San Francisco, California, which is in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s 8th...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

Today, was a miserable day. Sure, it was a beautiful sunny day. But, noticing that we have passed a casualty milestone in Iraq and hearing how cold-hearted the Vice-President was, in response to that milestone, broke my heart. Every day, I hope that my soldier will not become part of that milestone, yet, the current White House administration acts like, “it’s business, as usual”; not a big deal. So, it’s only fitting that I re-post the following video, because...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

We got snow for Easter, in my neck of the woods.  As the snow began to melt, today, I could see the first signs of Spring, sprouting up out of the brown ground; the first sprigs of green grass.  I think we are going to need another decent snowstorm, to saturate the ground, to boost the colors of Spring; something I am looking forward to, along with the 60-plus degree temperatures. It’s Monday, so ya’ll know what that means:...

Nancy Pelosi Speaks Out on Tibet, Bush Silent

I’ve been watching the situation in Tibet unfold in recent days but have not found the time to write about.  China has been censoringthe news coming out of Tibet on the protests there and have sent in the military to crackdown. FreeTibet.org has a wealth of photos, news links and videos that have made it through the Great Firewall. On Friday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, leading a delegation of members of Congress, met with the Dalai Lama in...
