The Dow closed at a loss of 678 points. The pain may have just started. While the markets continue to correct based on the days trading 401K’s and other retirement accounts continue to shrink. People are fearful. When will it stop?

According to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll, nearly “six out of ten Americans believe another economic depression is likely.” I wasn’t one of the lucky folks polled, but I have to say I’d be among those “six out of ten Americans” who believe an “economic depression is likely.”
From where I sit, the economy has [...]

Tonight is Palin’s big night! The gawker in me is tempted to watch and play our typical speechification drinking games. But, if I’m going to spend an evening listening to incoherent people, I’d have much more fun at a neighborhood bar.
Still keeping the Ten Post Round-Up simple, today.
Before you check out the debate, tonight, you [...]

I’m not going to get to wordy in the Ten Post Round-Up for the next few days. I’ve got so much going on now, that my brain is on overdrive.

Here we are not only in the midst of a critical Presidential and Congressional election season, but now America is in a deep financial crisis. Money is tight for so many Americans right now, but Kerry gets just how important this election is.
So what does Kerry do?
He pony’s up 1 Million [...]

Two days after the Bail Out Bill failed in the House, the Senate plans to vote on the “$700 billion bank rescue plan,” on Wednesday evening. The Senate Bill “adds new provisions - including raising the FDIC insurance cap to $250,000 from $100,000 - and will be attached to an existing revenue bill that the [...]

John Kerry had at it with Bill O’Reilly on The Factor last night (h/t News Hounds) on the issue of the economic crisis. Watch it here:
This afternoon, Kerry held a press conference to outline the urgency of passing comprehensive economic legislation to avoid the collapse of Wall Street from hitting families and business across the [...]

As of this writing DOW is up 305 points. Now 299 points. Now 286 points. It could bounce another 100 points one way or another. This information comes from Yahoo Finance.

There’s a lot of finger pointing going on in the wake of the Bail Out Bill failure in the House today (see Roll Call vote here).
Barack Obama said today that “he believed Congress would ultimately pass a proposed $700 billion financial bailout deal, despite its initial rejection by the House of Representatives.”
“I’m confident that we’re going [...]
