Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

My apologies for the late-edition of the round-up, today. I’ve been feeling a little off, physically, so I decided to take it easy and slept right through the time I normally prepare and post. And, since I’m not feeling so hot, today, I’ve gotta keep the music to a light tempo: Color Me Badd – I Adore Mi Amor Be warned: Some of the links in today’s Ten Post Round-Up may make you a bit sick to your stomach,...

More On Republicans for Obama

February 26, 2008 3:43 pm
By

Dallas News reports that early voters are swarming Texas. The other day I worte about the movement of some Texas Republicans who are planning to vote for Obama in the primary and then switch back to vote for McCain in general election. Some of us are concerned about this. The Houston Chronicle has a piece on this today. The gist of the story is many of these Republicans are voting for Obama, simply to make sure that “Hillary gets out.” Michael Jones,...

Hillary Clinton delivered a foreign policy speech at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. on Monday. Joining her at the speech were “a group of senior retired military and defense officials who have endorsed her to be this nation’s next Commander-in-Chief.” They included:  General Wesley Clark, Lt. General Joe Ballard, Major General Antonio M. Taguba, Rear Admiral David Stone, Brigadier General John M. Watkins, Jr. and former Secretary of the Army Togo West. Generals Taguba and Watkins will formally...

Are Republicans Choosing Our Nominee Only to Screw Us in November?

February 24, 2008 1:38 am

I’ve been uneasy for sometime now about Obama courting Republicans so heavily to vote for him in the primaries. It’s one thing to do this in the general election (there were Republicans for Kerry in ’04), but another thing altogether to have them weighing in on our nominee. And, it makes me especially uneasy to think that there could be a chance that they may be voting for Obama during the primaries with ulterior motives.   I mean come on, we all know the Republicans don’t...

Kerry, Biden and Hagel Make Emergency Landing in Afghanistan

February 21, 2008 7:29 pm
By

NBC News reported a few hours ago that “helicopters carrying three senior U.S. senators made emergency landings Thursday in the mountains of Afghanistan because of a snowstorm.” Sens. John Kerry, Joseph Biden and Chuck Hagel were aboard the aircraft. No one was injured, according a statement from Kerry’s office. The senators and their delegation returned to Bagram Air Base in a motor convoy, and have left for Turkey. “After several hours, the senators were evacuated by American troops and...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

It’s Thursday. That means I’m in work-mode. Getting ready for work, for me, is more like the way that Jennifer Lopez might prepare versus how Jane Doe blue collar might do so. I dress like I’m going to the Saturday dance and when I’m there, I am there to put on a show (especially on slow nights…which are, thankfully, rare). Because I am a small town girl who never had the connections to make it to the big time...

Scandalous

Scandalous… The N.Y. Times has a hit piece on John McCain that is a doozy. It’s all the buzz and of course everyone is talking about it in the blogosphere and the media. The problem for McCain is the piece hits him right smack in his ethics zone, as it implicates that McCain was perhaps a bit too cozy with a female lobbyist. Whether or not is will blow his campaign off course remains to be seen. Sphere: Related Content

Obama and McCain Win Winsconsin

February 19, 2008 9:04 pm
By

I’m sorry to say I haven’t had much time since I got back from my weekend trip to blog. The returns are in from the Wisconsin primary and it’s Obama and McCain, yet again. In a preview of what’s to come if Obama is the Democratic nominee, John McCain “took a swipe against Obama” in his victory speech which “focused on the fight against terrorism.”   “I will work hard to make sure Americans aren’t deceived by an eloquent but...
