I’ve been lax in blogging since my cross country move to Maine. Settling in here and unpacking has taken up most of my time, but I did not want to let election day pass without chiming in.

What can be said about yet another grim statistic from the tragedy that is Iraq? The US military deaths have reached 101, with another day left in a month. Iraqi casualties are considered underestimated despite a new record of 1170.

This opening to an ABC News story was another jolt for the importance of GOTV and voting absentee where ever possible. Reality check: even if they are making stupid errors that tell us the machines will be hacked, again, without other means of casting and counting votes on 11/7, it will be a a long slog to get what will still be a suspect count.
