Kentucky Democrats are abuzz over their party’s chances to grab Sen. Jim Bunning’s seat next year.
“Bunning is widely considered the most vulnerable incumbent of the cycle,” wrote John McArdle in Roll Call.
The Kentucky senate race will doubtless attract national attention next year. It’s big news when a Republican senator seems to be in big trouble [...]

How wonderful it is to have a president in the White House that appreciates culture:
It is a jam, not a slam. President Barack Obama and his cabinet colleagues were today preparing for the first White House poetry party.
Consolidating his reputation for cool after his performance as a stand-up comic on Saturday night, Obama has invited [...]

The Boston Globe reports that John Kerry’s former “body man” Marvin Nicholson will “continue his role as “trip director” for President-elect Barack Obama.”
Nicholson, Kerry’s former “Chief of Stuff,” will coordinate the “minute-by-minute movements on Air Force One and on the road” for incoming President Barack Obama.
Dem Daily readers may remember this story about Nicholson on [...]

Yay! I voted, yesterday. Now, I get to sit back for another week and try to tune out some of the political drama that continues on, unabated. We’ve got idiots plotting mass killing and assassination sprees. We’ve got morons creating hoaxes to scare people. We have people doing evil and disgusting things to get their [...]

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I was not a Jew.
When they came for [...]

Everyone’s still talking about the “lipstick on a pig,” and Hillary Clinton jumped into the mix today to add her two cents:
“Barack has made this clear,” she said responding to a question about the lipstick remark, which Republicans have condemned as a “disgraceful” and “sexist” attack on Palin. “It was no way meant as an [...]

A quick note on Michelle Obama’s speech… I thought it was awesome. I was incredibly impressed. She’s grown a lot on the campaign trail. Tonight’s from Michelle Obama speech was honest, from the heart and very moving. It was a great follow up to the tribute to Ted Kennedy and Kennedy’s “triumphant appearance” and speech.
If you [...]

Late last night I reported that it had been confirmed that Senator Ted Kennedy would be speaking at the convention tonight. CNN is reporting:
Sen. Edward Kennedy is expected to make a dramatic appearance Monday night at the Democratic National Convention, his office said, marking his second public appearance since brain surgery in June.
It is unclear [...]

In a reversal from it’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the largest part of the AFL-CIO, will endorse and support Barack Obama.
“Barack Obama has mobilized a historic movement to reclaim the greatness of America,” Gerald McEntee, AFSCM President, said. “With his leadership, our nation will rise [...]

Watch the primary results tonight and see Hillary Clinton bury Senator Obama in one state while he merely wins in another. Never give up!
This fight is not over. The pundits and portions of the party elite want Hillary Clinton to actually give up. They want her to surrender! They want her embarassed and humiliated. I’ve [...]
