Hillary Clinton did not disappoint liberals on today’s FISA vote, but Barack Obama certainly did. I can’t even begin to imagine why Obama caved on this issue as boldly as he has but it’s beyond disappointing, especially for those of us who had worked so hard to get Hillary nominated. “Three in 10 Americans say the Supreme Court is “too conservative,” up sharply from two years ago and now substantially more than call it “too liberal.” Just under half say [...]

Do I support a filibuster? The answer is yes.
Yesterday Senator Kennedy and I spoke with our colleagues about it. I don’t have a shred of doubt in my opposition to Sam Alto’s nomination. I know Senator Kennedy does not either. He has truly been a great leader in the effort to oppose Judge Alito.
I spent [...]

It is clear that our government failed the people of the Gulf Coast. In time, those responsible will be held accountable for what has gone right and what has gone wrong. Right now, we need to make up for lost time and help any way we can, and that means targeting the fastest relief possible,” said Senator Kerry
