Dennis Kucinich must have jumped for joy when Nancy Pelosi commented today that she thought his impeachment resolution may see committee hearings:
Kucinich is expected to offer a “privileged resolution” this afternoon calling on the House to look at whether President Bush should be removed from office for lying to Congress and the American public when [...]

Chris Cillizza sums it up on The Fix:
There is widespread agreement among Democratic and Republican observers that the GOP is headed for a loss of seats in the fall. But the depth of those losses remains a point of real debate, as more and more Republican districts appear to be vulnerable while the GOP campaign [...]

What the F*** is wrong with Congressional Dems? We’ve got 2 candidates out there campaigning on healthcare reform and these fools try to lower public expectations:
Congressional Democrats are backing away from healthcare reform promises made by their two presidential candidates, saying that even if their party controls the White House and Congress, sweeping change will be [...]

Ah, Super Tuesday. The talking heads will be all atwitter watching the polls in 22 states and waiting to see which Democrat/Republican comes out on top at the end of today’s primary bonanza.
There will be a news blackout in this house (as always) until after 10pm. I can’t stand play-by-plays, so watching the talking heads [...]

Of all of the many reasons to support a Democrat for President of the U.S. in 2008, one of the most vital is to start to bring to a close the reckless bloodbath that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and friends opened up in Iraq. From the safety of our homes we only know the starkest [...]

According to reports by AP and CNN, John Edwards will drop out of the 2008 Presidential race where he began it at an appearance in New Orleans. Originally scheduled as a speech on poverty it will instead be used to announce his withdrawal.
According to the story, he informed his senior advisor’s last night of his [...]

Obama’s snub of Hillary Clinton at last night’s SOTU address is certainly making the rounds in news and the blogs today, as predicted, including USA Today’s On Politics quoting my headline from last night:
Pamela Leavey at the liberal blog The Democratic Daily headlined her report on all this “Mr. Unity turns his back on opponent [...]

In a conference call this morning, California Congresswoman Maxine Waters, strongly endorsed Hillary Clinton.
Summarizing Ms. Waters, she said that HRC had traveled the country listening to the problems of the people. She knew the problems of the urban population and the small towns as well.
It was a strongly worded endorsement. (I have not found a transcript [...]

Ronald Reagan being a man of deeper parts than we thought at the time, had three great public talents. Barrack Obama has only two.
1. RR was a great speaker. He was eloquent when needed and direct when required. He would decide what to say and do it, mostly with grace.
2. RR had the ability to [...]

The most intriguing part of the State of the Union Address for me was watching the Kansas Governor audition for the second spot on the Obama ticket. The main lesson I took from the entire experience, however, is that Obama is playing a dangerous game by creating expectations that he almost certainly cannot deliver on.
Sebelius [...]

Ezra Klein had an OP/ED in the L.A. Times on the subject of “unity” on Sunday. In the OP/ED, Ezra says, “even a consensus-building, problem-solving president can’t solve political gridlock.” He’s got a point and a very good point.
“Unity” ain’t a fix all for America’s ills. For all the hype on bringing everyone together it [...]

It should be noted that the American public seems more aware than usual of the importance of governance.
Governance is far different than ‘change’. It’s implementing programs, concepts and ideas effectively.
Just a thought….
