Has the Republican Party become an endangered species?
Polls suggest that only one-fourth of the electorate considers itself Republican, that independents are trending Democratic and that as few as five states have solid Republican pluralities. And the electorate is getting less white, less rural, less Christian — in short, less demographically Republican.

Who knew? If it was possible to see even a sliver of the future, what might be different?
Sen. Clinton just gave the presidency to her former rival, Sen. Obama. And in doing so, she accomplished the feat largely by showing the President she would have been, as opposed to the lesser president her campaign, for [...]

I’ve urged here frequently that readers should support the nominee, whoever the nominee is, but frankly, truthfully, the backlash that is brewing is a little hard to ignore.
The thing is, as Joan Walsh pointed out tonight on Hardball (see video in post below) “Bill Clinton is our only 2 term Democrat” in the White House in [...]

Despite of the fact that he was defeated soundly by large margins in West Virginia and again tonight in Kentucky, Barack Obama is touting that the nomination is within reach (with the help of the Obama-media). But… For many Democrats voting today, there’s a sense of dis-satisfaction that is troubling. Marc Ambinder notes:

To me, Obama is one the most cynical politicians I’ve ever come across. The “Mitt Romney” of the Democrats, if you will. The last paragraph of this article doesn’t make me trust Obama any more (h/t commenter at Corrente):
“If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Mr. Wright [...]

I don’t know if the electorate are really bitter or not, but today’s Ten Post Round-Up will probably leave a grimy taste in your mouth:
1: So it seems that the only people that benefit from your college education is the college and the banks that issue student loans…
America’s Most Overrated Product: the [...]

Kollwitz, The Propeller
Having shown over the last seven months, since taking control of the legislative branch that they are at least equal to the Republicans when it comes to avarice, the Democrats set out this past weekend to demonstrate that, when it comes to cowardice, to blatant, unmitigated, ass covering politics they are every bit [...]

John Kerry may not be running in 2008 but his departure leaves a fundamental question that every Democrat needs to ask of the candidate they are supporting (or are considering supporting).
First some quick history, since the 1970s differences on presidential votes between the different income levels have grown dramatically. For example, the support of [...]
