Barney Frank Interested In Becoming Massachusetts Interim Senator

Just one day after retiring from the House, Barney Frank, said today “that he has asked Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick to send him back as an interim senator when Sen. John Kerry becomes secretary of state.” Frank noted that a short time ago he wasn’t interested in returback to the Hill, “But [the fiscal cliff deal] now means that February, March and April are going to be among the most important months in American financial history.” Governor Patrick isn’t letting on who he’ll nominate but “other names mentioned as a possible caretaker for Kerry’s seat include former Massachusetts Gov. Kerry Blasts Romney on Iran

Kerry swipes Romney again today over Iran foreign policy… I have little interest in inserting myself, as a former nominee of my party, into this presidential campaign season. But as the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which has a vital role in issues of national security, I feel compelled to respond to the ways that, in pursuit of the Republican nomination, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has put himself front and center in debates that have serious consequences.
