Ezra Klein had an OP/ED in the L.A. Times on the subject of “unity” on Sunday. In the OP/ED, Ezra says, “even a consensus-building, problem-solving president can’t solve political gridlock.” He’s got a point and a very good point.

I’ll have to admit this much, as a former New Yorker I would certainly prefer Mike Bloomberg as president than Rudy Giuliani any day. Which is why his announcement that he was leaving the Republican party and has been planning a possible independent run for more than two years now came as such a jolt.
