Today, the EPA declared “carbon dioxide and five other heat-trapping gases to be pollutants that threaten public health and welfare, setting in motion a process that for the first time in the United States will regulate the gases blamed for global warming.” This is a huge step forward from the Bush administration’s stonewalling on this issue.

President-elect Obama has launched Obama 2.0, otherwise known as “Organizing for America”:
Marc Ambinder notes:
An Obama political aide said that OFA will be housed at the Democratic National Committee, resolving a longstanding debate about whether the entity should be separate.

The Clinton campaign announced on Friday that Rick, Louis, Ben and Bill Bolaños were endorsing Hillary Clinton for president. They were named National Co-Chairs of Veterans and Military Retirees for Hillary.
The Bolaños family is the only family in the U.S. to ever have four brothers serve in the Vietnam war at the same time. In 1966, Rick Bolaños joined [...]

Right now, one-fifth of foster children wind up being homeless adults.

Paul’s alliance with neo-Confederates helps explain the views his newsletters have long espoused on race. Take, for instance, a special issue of the Ron Paul Political Report, published in June 1992, [...]

I received the press release below from Emily’s List a while ago. Reading through it, I was very impressed with the rather unprecedented effort they put into their GOTV effort for Hillary Clinton in Iowa particularly with women who had no history of caucus participation. This is a very important voting block that is so [...]
