Wow. Last night’s Saturday Night Live was … well, not so funny.
SNL - Smooching Butt To Power
Or, actually it WAS funny, but not funny “ha ha.”
The opening sketch, Tina Fey as Sarah Palin with the actual John McCain going on QVC because McCain didn’t have enough money for any other network buy was kind of [...]

The latest chant at Palin rallies is this: “Vote McCain, not Hussein!” or “John McCain! Not Hussein!” As NYT’s The Caucus is reporting, the former made an appearance at a rally earlier this week in Pennsylvania, the latter at one this morning in Florida:
After the rally in Florida ended, two of the people leading the [...]

Rolling Stone has published a cover story on John McCain that has the most damning, well documented biography of his life I’ve seen. I thought I knew the deceptions of John McCain. I didn’t know one-tenth of the real story. I won’t try to summarize this lengthy article. There is simply too much data, too [...]

Kristol: Nicht!
i. prologue, incest among the NeoCons
I’ve told you at length about the Rovian Campaign of McCain’s deputy director of communications, Weekly Standard blog writer and editor Michael Goldfarb (on a ‘leave of absence’). And I’ve told you about how William Kristol is so tangled up in the McCain campaign, Fox News and the selection [...]

There are a lot of scary things in this world, but one of the scariest is that Halloween and the Presidential election are only five days apart. It’s hard to miss the parallel between tricks-and-treats and the promises-and-panderings of politicians masquerading as the most caring, most vital, most sincere candidate. While [...]

The Swamp, the Chicago Tribune’s Washington bureau blog, reports:
A campaign official privately tells the paper: “She’s now positioning herself for her own future. Of course, this is bad for John. It looks like no one is in charge.”
ABC News, among others, notes that, in an interview with CNN, one McCain adviser anonymously called Palin “a [...]

84 year old Alaska Senator Ted Stevens was found guilty on all 7 counts of his indictment. He said, ‘This isn’t over yet’ according to CNN. All 7 counts were for some sort of financial corruption.
He sat expressionless as the seven verdicts were read out at the end of his trial, less than a day [...]

It is not, one supposes, egotistical to note that the story I told you here last Monday (”Holy You Betcha, Batman! It’s the Barracuda!” 20 Oct 2008.) is now confirmed on Saturday, after having become the subject of speculation throughout the bloviating class. To wit:
Palin allies report rising campaign tension

Well, it could be wacko Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who recently called Obama anti-American (and his views “against America“) and said there was anti-American sentiment in Congress, and who has been abandoned by her own party, so crazy is she, but let’s go with Palin, the predictable choice, once again.
In an interview with chief theocrat [...]

Marc Ambiner, for the Atlantic Magazine writes, “Republicans, RNC donors and at least one RNC staff member have e-mailed me tonight to share their utter (and not-for-attribution) disgust at the expenditures.”
The McCain campaign had previously responded, ” It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign.”-McCain-Palin spokesperson Tracey [...]

Sarah Palin is against robocalls… while doing them herself.
She is also against the “atrocious and unacceptable things” some of her supporters have been yelling out at her rallies, vicious and violent slurs directed at Obama, calling them “unacceptable” (though claiming that she hasn’t actually heard any of them, which hardly seems possible)… while stating, in [...]

John SIDNEY McTheuselah and Caribou Barbie have finally unveiled their latest last-ditch smear tactic*: Obama is a (gasp!) SOCIALIST! Here’s from Senator McCain’s radio address today, after reintroducing us to the dance sensation that’s sweeping the nation: “Joe the Plumber“:
My opponent’s answer showed that economic recovery isn’t even his top priority. His goal, as Senator [...]
