As the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting story continues to unfold, we learn tonight that Nancy Lanza, the mother of the shooter, Adam Lanza, was a gun enthusiast. Nancy Lanza loved guns, and often took her sons to one of the shooting ranges here in the suburbs northeast of New York City, where there is an active community of gun enthusiasts, her friends said. At a local bar, she sometimes talked about her gun collection. Twitter Reaction to Newtown Connecticut Elementary School Shooting

I am monitoring the Newtown, Connecticut Elementary School shooting via various sources right now. The NY Times reports: The gunman, who was believed to be in his 20s, walked into a classroom where his mother was a teacher. He shot and killed her and then shot 18 students in the classroom. He also shot seven other adults, and then killed himself inside the school. Various news outlets identified the shooter as Ryan Lanza. The shooting ranks among the worst in recent United States history. Breaking 26 Dead, Including 18 Children in Connecticut School Shooting

Breaking… Via NBC News: Updated at 1 p.m. ET: At least 26 people were killed, including at least 18 children, when a gunman opened fire in a Connecticut elementary school Friday morning, a law enforcement official said.
