For me, and I’m certain for every reader, this is a day to say thanks for the good things in our lives. I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving day with friends and family.

This is too sad for long comment. You wonder why Tom Friedman today suggested moving up the swearing in to Thanksgiving? He didn’t have this video in mind but if he’d seen it he would have puked.

The American celebration of a day of Thanksgiving has always been special to me. One of my favorite ministers once talked about how the Pilgrams used the concept of giving thanks to focus on what was really important in life as much as to praise God or diminish their discouragement.

Franken’s new book is not only a great read (as the writer of the foreward says, the book delivers on it’s title and subtitle) it is a concise and complete review of the Bush Administration’s unbelievable record. Several of us, and Bill Moyers, have said that the American public has reached a teachable moment. This is your textbook for those lessons.
