Dodd Says He Will Filibuster FISA

Yesterday, Senator Chris Dodd sent out an email sent he was putting a hold on the FISA legislation. Today he took it a step further announcing “he is prepared to go to the Senate floor and filibuster.” It’s awesome that he’s willing to stand up and fight the FISA bill. Watch the video:

Wingnuts on SCHIP

Before the SCHIP vote today in the House, Rep. Rep. Steve King (R-IA) displayed a sign with his new name for SCHIP - “Socialized Clinton-style Hillarycare for Illegals and their Parents”:

H/T to Sadly No!, who notes:
Guys, you’ve done outdone yerselves on this one. Please, please, please keep insulting middle-class families who can’t afford health insurance. I guarantee [...]

The Not Really a Story of the Day

Air America Host Randi Rhodes did not get mugged. But in a few short hours a story that she did get mugged, took off like wildfire across the blogosphere with bloggers on both sides flying off the handle.
Air America radio host Randi Rhodes is temporarily off the air, but claims she was brutally attacked [...]

Standing Up, Because It’s The Right Thing To Do

Another all American family caught up in the BushCo economy has come forward to back SCHIP and their daughter is profiled in the latest ad (see “Featured Video” in the sidebar):

Partisanship Gone Crazy

Maybe it’s just me, but I sick and tired of the partisanship gone crazy that has infested this country and shows itself at it’s lowest levels on any given day of late in the blogosphere and in the opinion pages of what some call our news media as Paul Krugman points out in his Monday N.Y. [...]

Al… the Anti–Dubya

Todd posted the “required Saturday reading” this morning which included to very good OP/ED’s on Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday. There’s one more, I highly recommend: Al Gore: the anti-Bush. It’s “no wonder,” Jonathan Chait says in L.A. Times that “conservatives are apoplectic - Gore’s fortunes rise as the president’s plummets.”
You [...]

Idiotic Quote of the Day

Via Newt Gingrich: “It’s perfectly appropriate for Gore to win the Nobel Prize because it only goes to very left-wing people who are critical of America.”
LOL. Why do people like Henry Kissinger, George C. Marshall, Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, Elie Wiesal, and the Quakers hate America?

Al Gore Has Made His Commitment

There’s still a lot of buzz flying about Al Gore and ‘08, which is rather sad in my opinion, because the focus should be on the issue that propelled the Nobel committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Gore and the IPCC.
FAUX News reports that Draftgore.com issued a “statement predicting the Nobel would [...]

Lost In A Sea Of Hate

You would be surprised, did you know it, to know that Theodore Sturgeon used to write for the National Review. He and William F. Buckley respected each other, and Buckey respected Sturgeon — even though Ted agreed with Buckley politically not very much at all. But Buckley and Sturgeon could be — and were [...]

The U.S. Would Be A Better Place With Out Ann Coulter

E&P has the transcript (from Media Matters) of Ann Coulter on CNBC’s Donny Deutsch’s “The Big Idea” this past Monday night. Coulter created quite a stir, which she is of course known for, when she ”suggested that the U.S. would be a better place if there weren’t any Jewish people and that they needed to “perfect” [...]
